AMERICAN CREAM BAND was formed by Twin-Cities musician Nathan Nelson around 10 years ago, taking the form of improvised live shows and albums Frankensteined from these sessions into exultant, fully-formed records you can sink your teeth into. The band’s previous records have manifested on labels like Moon Glyph and Medium Sound, and now Presents arrives on Italy's Quindi. It's a freewheeling flash of snappy new wave, skronky sax, call and response sass and some krautrock-minded sonic cosmology.
GAY WITCH ABORTION~ Brutally vengeful art formed in the bowls of the Twin Cities. Gay Witch Abortion’s debut album MAVERICK jams itself into that sort of a classification. Like a unicorn spearing it’s prey, having so little patience it completely shreads the kittens into tiny morsels of sweet bloody pulp candies. The taste of blood has ruined many a creature, there is a simplistic aura surrounding the violence, drawing you in, just close enough to feel the power, but still leaving an unconquered taste in your soul. So you go back and try it again and again. Getting your senses tugged and thwarted back and forth by the punishing beauty of the hunt.
This duo of Shawn Walker and Jesse Bottemly combine together to puree a gigantic rhythemic stew of guitar and drums. If you close your eyes, you might find yourself imagining your childhood, putting you fingers in to the ceiling fan, it hurts, but it brings a sense of power and risk. Doing the wrong thing, instead of the right thing. Perhaps drawing blood, breaking something. Getting in trouble. This is your sound track. Punishing and aggressive, a tornado’s ballad. Lighting and thunder rain down from the speakers without regard for shelter or comfort. Real power, natural power, the sounds of Gay Witch Abortion.
CHRISTY COSTELLO is a long time mover and shaker here in the Twin Cities. . She is a songwriter, guitar player & bass player amongst talent buyer and promoter. Her vocal styles are in the key of smoke, grit, soul and life. She is in a lot of active bands including herself, Monica LaPlante, COMA CLUB and Extraterrestrials. She used to be in Butchers Union, Pink Mink, The Von Bondies and Ouija Radio. Her current bands line-up will feature Monica LaPlante on bass/backup vocals, Orion Treon guitar/synth/backup vocals, Austin Cecil drums and Matt Pahl sax, keys and percussion.
LOUD SUN is Andrew Jansen – a naturalist, a musician, and a songwriter who’s been self-releasing music in various forms since the early 2000s. With Loud Sun, Andrew combines rock, folk, psychedelic, punk and elements of electronic music. Sea Grave (2017), Loud Sun’s latest effort, is a story of departure, loss and the time in between. Partially self-recorded in Oakland, CA and finished in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Sea Grave is largely comprised of melodic bedroom pop with experimental, garage, and ’60s influences.
FEAST OF LANTERNS Shanna Willie, Pete Biasi, Al Sparhawk. Bestial electric guitar and drum music from Duluth MN
LARRY WISH & HIS GUYS~ Larry Wish has been composing proggy indie music since 2007. With over fifty albums, including releases on labels such as Orange Milk, Moon Glyph, & Bumpy, his songs often explore daily observations, reflections, interactions, and trying to understand love and life without analyzing either to death. By combining elements of jazz and classical music, Larry Wish creates a musical universe that blurs the lines between harmony and dissonance. Larry has collaborated with artists such as David Liebe Hart from Adult Swim's Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job!, has appeared on an album by the godfather of home recording, R. Stevie Moore, and has been featured by publications such as The Wire and Tiny Mix Tapes.
IE (pronounced “eeeee”), from Minneapolis, MN, is a band devoted to experiences of hypnotic minimalism — sonic rituals from the future. Their shows feature sustained tones, electronic whirrs, slow beats, video and film projections, metaphysical recitations, and carefully crafted atmospheres. Since 2018, IE has performed live in over 50 performances at Big Ears Festival, Drone Not Drones, Milwaukee Psych Fest, and the Heliotrope Festival, as well as many other clubs, galleries, and DIY spaces from Zebulon (Los Angeles), h0l0 (NYC), Mississippi Studios (Portland, OR), Constellation (Chicago), to Nett Nett Gallery (Tijuana, MX) and Brasserie Beaubien (Montreal, QC).
ALL GOLDEN is a psychedelic pop band from Minneapolis, formed in 2022 by…Sadie Ries on guitar & vocals, Andy Rockwood on bass, Mat Heinrich on drums. Equal parts home recording obsessives and live garage rock revelers, All Golden weave together layers of melodic energy informed by (but coloring outside the lines of) 60's folk rock, 70's glam, and the relics of the first psychedelic rock era.
NOISE QUEEN ANT~ Experiments in sound, rhythm, and perception by Scott Brown and Blake Peterson beginning in 1997, and with Brady Lenzen since 2004.
