BETTY WON'T sings with a tear in her eye and a skip in her step.

JOE ROBERTO & POVERTY HASH~ Now calling the Twin Cities home, Connecticut transplant Joe Roberto is the driving force behind Poverty Hash. As the principle songwriter, Joe took his 20 plus years of performing, song writing, and life experience and poured all of it into the music Poverty Hash plays. What emerged is the hauntingly beautiful imagery of songs like “Blood Stained Hands”, a warning to all bar loudmouths, contrasted by “Rally Cry”, a semi autobiographical portrait of the songwriter.

Joining Roberto is bassist and fellow founding member Jason Murray (Bass), a seasoned veteran of the Minneapolis scene. Murray joined forces with Roberto in Connecticut and brought him back when he returned to the Twin Cities. The two then enlisted the help of Robert Zemlin (Guitar), a long time band mate of Murray, and C.J. Vanderpoll (Drums) who has performed with Nick the Feel, Buckets and Tap Shoes, I like you, and several others. With these additions the current lineup of Poverty Hash began making its mark on the local scene.

SLIM STONE remembers nothing until the age of 10 when he awoke on the shores of the Mississippi River outside of Minneapolis on a makeshift raft. There he learned to fish, forage, and pick guitar from various river folk. Unique country/blues is the result.

MUMBLIN' DREW~ snakes between the traditional and the contemporary sounds of folk music. With north country blues and a midwest moan, Drew has spent years playing on street corners, in dingy basements, and between tree and shore across the country.
