First Sundays of the month are coming in hot following Cornbread and Friends with Boots-N-Needles, King Baron and Johnny Sincerely!
Showtime 8-11pm FREE
BOOTS N NEEDLES combines the talents of Lauren Asheim and Dallas Cornell and features Old and New Country Blues, Traditional, and Rockabilly vibes. You may recognize Lauren from past bands including The Hula Peppers, Slippery People and Lady Date. She has also trod the boards as an actor and vocalist all over the Twin Cities including the Guthrie Theater, the History Theater, Mixed Precipitation and more. Dallas brings a wealth of musical skills and an eye for design to the duo and has played with The Cornells, The Changeups and numerous ska and punk outfits back in California. Known as the "human metronome" and a skilled sewing machinist, he is full of surprises. They aim to share their love of all things country and blues, sparkles and dirt and maybe a few more unexpected pairings along the way...
Paul Fonfara aka KING BARON is a composer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and all-around nice guy who keeps himself pretty damn busy. While he writes all sorts of music and plays a ton of instruments, his songs carry a unifying thread of the cinematic, that pulls from spaghetti western, Balkan folk, film noire spy jazz, modern chamber music and gutter blues sounds. Think Ennio Morricone drinking cheap boxed wine. Eric Satie with a splinter in his big toe. Andrew Bird stuck in an episode of Twin Peaks. When solo, he plays guitars, clarinet, piano, whistles, and sings songs for the underdogs. Heart felt, cathartic with a tinge of the absurd.
Johnny Sincerely (aka The Dapper Madman, aka Johnny The Mystic) is a multi-instrumentalist, producer, sound enegineer and band leader. He twists the blues and rock n roll in with carnival sounds, vaudevillian theatricality and dark new orleans tinged jazz. His band, The Johnny Sincerely Orchestra, can be found playing stages around the twin cities - and will be releasing an album, The Carnival Of Love And Blues, in the spring of 2024.
