This will be a great night of music with some of the finest songsmith's the Twin Cities has to offer!
John Louis crafts heartworn country folk songs. Born of a blend of observation, experience, introspection and empathy, John’s songs have garnered attention and awards from prestigious songwriting showcases including the Kerrville New Folk competition, Rocky Mountain Folks Festival Songwriter Showcase, and the Great River Folk Fest songwriter contest.
“John Louis is a good man writing great music up in Minneapolis.” Jon Dee Graham
“John Louis's songwriting is reminiscent of Kris Kristofferson, John Prine and Townes Van Zandt.” Radio Heartland, Minnesota Public Radio
AJ Scheiber is a Twin Cities-based songwriter and co-leader (with Liz Wilkinson) of the folk / honky-tonk band Wilkinson James. He once described himself to an interviewer as “sort of a non-smoking John Prine,” but in his rootsy, poetic songs you’ll also hear traces of Hank Williams, Mose Allison, Gram Parsons, and (of course) Minnesota’s own Bob Dylan. His first solo album, Town Boy, released in April 2020, garnering airplay on Minnesota Public Radio’s The Current 89.3 and other regional broadcast outlets. He’s currently at work on a second album with grammy-nominated producer Mark Stockert (Brian Setzer, Rosie Flores).
The music of Minneapolis-based Americana singer-songwriter Grant Glad transforms the day-to-day struggle of
American living into foot-stomping, full-hearted anthems about chasing dreams and dancing while you do it. At times twangy, at times funky, his albums stretch the boundaries of several genres to produce something entirely new: songs that offer the loose, raw spirit of punk rock, the bold, driving rhythms of roots rock-and-roll, and the rich sense of personal history that makes classic country forever relevant.
