Three bands led by three talented, up-and-coming singer-songwriters, accompanied by some of the finest musicians in the Twin Cities.
Spaceport is a soft-pop indie rock trio based in Saint Paul. The project emerged from cellist Arianna Wegley's desire to arrange and produce songs she wrote over the course of a sad, lonely year. She taught herself to play guitar and synths and recorded in her bedroom, and shortly thereafter invited her partner Todd Olson to replace her sampled drums with live ones, and Liam Moore joined on bass. Their debut record, Window Seat, is a collection of contemplative and catchy pop/rock songs arranged with sci-fi synths, crunchy guitar, cello, horns, bass, and drums; earthbound space music about you and me and everything in between. It's out on local sort-of-pop label Aura Vortex Records on March 3, 2023.
Witness is a band out of Minneapolis. We make folk/rock/garage-country music to rage-cry to. Our new line-up finds singer-songwriter Gabe Keller Flores exploring new, angstier emotional terrain on electric guitar, backed up by the grooviest rhythm section in town: Willow Waters on bass and Stephen Gregg on drums.
Emmy Woods was born and raised on an old dirt road in small town North Dakota and currently resides in Saint Paul, Minnesota. With hints of country, folk, and blues, Emmy’s songs showcase both her knack for storytelling as well as her strengths in musical artistry. Audiences enjoy a collection of tunes that are at once soft and strong, fragile and fierce. When asked to describe her music in three words, lover of music Kyle Smith said “Queer Farm Vibes.”
