Goatroper is led by Abbey Janii & Mike Lee, who are both songwriters from South Dakota living in Minneapolis. Over the last few years, Abbey was fronting the rock band Julie Fur, while Mike was bouncing around playing his weirdo folk songs for anyone who would listen. After releasing their solo efforts “Prairie Roads” & “Pick Me Up Café,” they began work on a new project playing each other’s tunes. Behind them are an incredible cadre of musicians, bringing you twangy, folksy rock’n’roll outta the heartland.
Carlisle Evans Peck is a singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist. Their intricate and transportive songs combine the timeless patina of folklore with the heart-rending passion of music-theater. With a commanding and multifaceted voice and a backing band, they twirl between piano driven glam rock, dramatic neoclassical, and country-twanged folk. You may have last seen them sashaying through their 2022 Cedar Commission performance, directing the 2022 Barebones orchestra, or searching the undergrowth for the first spring ephemerals or the last autumn fungi.
