From the loud, adventurous, music scene of Minneapolis, Minnesota; Pretty Pretty Please is a hot-blooded rising pop-rock band, quick to turn heads. Though they have yet to release any official music, Pretty Pretty Please has already gained a reputation for their infectious melodies, heavy riffs, amplified performances, and undeniable charisma.

Formed in late 2022, Pretty Pretty Please consists of Ben Tarr (lead vocals/bass) Noah Bauer (lead guitar/vocals) and Sam Walsh (drums/percussion). Inspired by classic artists like The Beastie Boys, Prince, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Nirvana, their distinctive sound is raw, fresh, and undeniably rock n’ roll. Combining thick funk-punk bass lines, ferocious guitar solos, and soaring vocal harmonies into a sound that is uniquely their own.

Make Keene is the lead vocalist and primary songwriter of The (somewhat eponymously named) Makeouts. Catch them at your local watering hole, rock club or pool hall and expect to hear a raucous concoction of semi-glossed jams. A sound that doesn't hesitate to draw from a wide array of influences while exploring unusual combinations to a singular effect. Sure and solid melodies sing out over cascades of messy but handsome guitar, bass and drum parts. The kind of sound that reminds you that the Hope diamond used to be dinosaur bones. His baritone voice is somewhat evocative of Roy Orbison but his songs are tinged with the disaffected brooding of Mark Lanegan.

The Makeouts made their debut in 2019 as Keene’s recording project with the EP Haymaker, recorded in his grandparent’s theater barn in Door County, WI. While Make has used The Makeouts name to record his songs and collaborate with artists all over the country during the pandemic, he rebuilt the band in 2022 to take root in Minneapolis. With Sam Walsh (drums), Kevin Fluegel (bass), and Kata Fried (keys, vocals).

Filthy Kittens started in Minneapolis in March of 2022, with general tendencies toward folk rock. In addition to new material, their songbook reaches into previous bands and solo projects involving Filthy Kittens members. The band’s current lineup includes Henry James Patterson, Mitchell Nelson, Desmond Lawrence, and Irene Manning. Filthy Kittens released their first single “Mr. Tambourine Man” and their first album, Trouble in Mayberry, in January 2023 ahead of a release show at the 7th St Entry. The album is a collection of songs about love, small towns, childhood, and light politics.
