Minneapolis Pop Punk - Fun loud music with huge hooks and high energy! Formed around the twin cities in 2015, four high school buddies have been writing original pop punk tunes for over 7 years. With their latest release, “Hell Yep!”, Linus made waves with their huge choruses and relatable lyrics. Check out their latest single “FNITUP” on all streaming platforms.
Playing at the intersection where indie rock meets folk, Built to Spill meets The Avett Brothers. Gentleman Speaker released their first album, self titled, in 2018 and has been playing regularly in Minnesota and the surrounding states since, becoming a staple in the Minnesota music scene. Their sophomore album is due out in late 2020. Melodic Noise reviewed the first album and had this to say: “I’ve heard many different artists try to balance the line of folk-rock, few can pull it off, but this album nails it with moments of clean, twangy, and distorted guitars perfectly executed. “Self-Titled” by Gentleman Speaker will draw you in with its captivating folk-rock and have you listening intently to its inventive lyrics.”
“Baker-Miller Pink,” the latest album from The Havana Sleeve, dropped back in April. A squeal of the guitar, then heavy riffs, tight minimalist drums, and big vocals all crash into motion at once and the album starts up a pace that doesn’t let up until just over thirty-six minutes later as the final distorted note of the closing track “20 Past 10” sputters out. The Havana Sleeve did something special with “Baker-Miller Pink,” capturing various styles of alternative rock and blending them from one track to the next nearly seamlessly so you don’t ever realize you’ve changed sub-genres until you’re halfway through the next track.
IF WEATHER GOES TO SHIT, THE SHOW MOVES INDOORS.
