The Best Bands and Artists with The Newest Bands and Artists! Every third Wednesday of the Month! And we celebrate 'Front Row Paul!'

The line-up: The Shackletons, Whiskey Rock and Roll Club, The Silent Treatment, San Ardo and SpaceportT

The Shackletons are a rock band from Minneapolis, circa 2014, composed of brothers Colin Campbell (guitar/vocals), Cameron Campbell (bass/backing vocals), and Evan Campbell (drums/misc screaming). Local radio station The Current has described them as, "Conor Oberst with a John Belushi attitude, fronting The Hold Steady."

The band puts on electrifying live performances pulling from their catalog of punk, indie, blues, and whatever they're feeling like playing at the moment. The Shackletons draw from a plethora of influences including The Replacements, The Who, Against Me!, and Old 97s.

WRRC~Loud sounds from the MPLS rock ‘n’ roll underground! Although only a three piece, fuzzed-out rock outfit Whiskey Rock ‘n’ Roll Club MPLS makes a bigger and badder sound—boogie with a bit of bite!—than groups one-and-a-half their size. The same over-performance also holds for Whiskey’s live show bar tabs, making the “Club meeting” live shows a favorite for fans of loud and fast music and bartenders alike. Whiskey Rock ‘n’ Roll Club MPLS is Taylor Carik (vox, guitar), Mark Devaraj (drums, also of Tromp le Monde, High on Stress, Heavy Sixers), and Andy Holmaas (bass, also plays with David Allen and others).Whiskey RRC MPLS have opened for national acts at The Turf Club and 7th St Entry, played the Roots, Rock & Deep Blues Festival, the Stone Arch Festival, SoundUnseen Opening Party, 612 Brewing Outdoor Summer Music Series, Hennepin 5 to 10 Series, and more.

The Silent Treatment~ Classic punk rock noise from Minneapolis. All the subtlety of a car accident. This four piece band's commitment to the stripped down noises of confrontation will leave you yearning for the days of glowering in disgust at your family's kitchen table. The group’s EP You’re Gonna Get It (2018) and Everything's Just Fine (2021) are available on Bandcamp, and have received airplay on KFAI's Spin with Cyn. The Silent Treatment has played the Turf Club, 7th Street Entry, The Cabooze, Uptown VFW as well as the usual suspects of the Minneapolis live music scene with acts such as Dave Rave, Ol' Yeller, Little Man, The Short Fuses, and the Fret Rattles. Always loud, always fast and full of energy, the Silent Treatment is Keely Lane (Ol’ Yeller, Trailer Trash, Rich Mattson and the Northstars) on drums, Dave Randall (The Boot R&B, Kinda Kinky, The Magnolias) on bass, Rob Sells (Low Rats, Loose Rails) on guitar, and Claire Luger on vocals.

Inspired by the sun, surf, and sounds of Southern California, San Ardo hit the scene in 2018. A hybrid of hard rock and punk rock, the music of this power trio will set you free.

Spaceport is a soft-pop indie rock trio based in Saint Paul. The project emerged from cellist Arianna Wegley's desire to arrange and produce songs she wrote over the course of a sad, lonely year. She taught herself to play guitar and synths and recorded in her bedroom, and shortly thereafter invited her partner Todd Olson to replace her sampled drums with live ones, and Liam Moore joined on bass. Their debut record, Window Seat, is a collection of contemplative and catchy pop/rock songs arranged with sci-fi synths, crunchy guitar, cello, horns, bass, and drums; earthbound space music about you and me and everything in between. It's out on local sort-of-pop label Aura Vortex Records on March 3, 2023.

IF WEATHER IS DUMB THE SHOW MOVES INDOORS.
