Doors 7pm Showtime 9 21+ $10
8pm Supermodified~ Five nerdy musicians found themselves down pit row in a fuzzy garage of dissonant vintage synth lines from a goofy, brainy, classically-trained pianist; guitars from an outlaw country surf bum who likes to play with robots; melodic bass lines from an old soul punk in a young body; drums from a former punk guitarist with a lo-fi primal swing who refuses to sit down; and vocals from a growly bearded dude spouting truths and occasional stupidity.
9 Oliver Phibes~ is a surf-based instrumental band headquartered in the Twin Cities. Featuring members of Sicbay, The Yoleus, and Go Go Boot Camp. Operating in the vein of Davie Allan, Link Wray, and B Movie soundtracks.
10 Field Hospitals~ draw on decades of nervy jangle rock tradition with sharp songwriting and taut live performances that hint at the members’ background in Midwestern post-punk. Drawing from the deep well of classic indie, Field Hospitals connect early American indie bands like R.E.M. and the Feelies with influences from British Commonwealth legends the Go-Betweens, the Clean, and Teenage Fanclub. The result is a sound that will appeal to fans of recent critically acclaimed bands like the Tubs, Sharp Pins, Ducks Ltd., and Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever
